UniPixel is currently developing thin film applications for use in a wide variety of optical communications. 

Our planned products have the potential to enable lasers to communicate through "free-space" with Ghz data rates.  These high-speed digital communications devices will work over both long and short line-of-sight distances.  This eliminates the need for wires, radio transmitters/receivers, radio spectrum licencing, fiber optic cables and other costly infrastructure requirements.
